Jermaine Jenas, the former England and Premier League footballer, is said to have been sacked by the BBC after alleged complaints about his behaviour. Known for his stints with Nottingham Forest, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur, and playing for his country, Nottingham-born Jenas has been removed from his role on The One Show, as per a statement by the broadcaster.

Following an internal investigation sparked by supposed complaints over Jenas' behaviour, he has been dropped from the popular BBC One evening show, according to information published by The Sun. A spokesperson for the BBC disclosed: "We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line-up."

Jenas's career at the BBC also included duties as a pundit on Match of the Day and as the host of MOTDx, which was a version of the show aimed at younger viewers but was discontinued last year. With 21 caps for England and numerous appearances for top clubs, the 41-year-old ex-midfielder has seen his association with the corporation come to an end, reports Nottinghamshire Live.

Jermaine Jenas has joined talkSPORT shortly in the aftermath of his departure from the BBC. He will now be heard on talkSPORTs Drive show, co-hosting with ex-Liverpool player Jermaine Pennant, marking his debut as a leading presenter.

The last time Jenas was seen co-hosting The One Show was alongside Alex Jones on July 22; he last featured on the Match of the Day panel on May 4. More recent endeavours included providing Euro 2024 semi-final commentary for the Spain vs France game for TNT Sports. Previously tipped as a potential successor to Gary Lineker for Match of the Day, Jenas most recently provided commentary on Liverpool's 2-0 win over Ipswich this Saturday with TNT Sports, as reported by the Mirror.

The dad-of-four became a part of The One Show in 2020, stepping in as a co-host after Matt Baker's exit. He was then made a permanent member of the team the following year. However, his representation by MC Saatchi has now ended. In December, the retired footballer was honoured with an Honorary Doctorate of Sport from Nottingham Trent University.
