Jadon Sancho 'determined to leave Manchester United this summer'

Jadon Sancho is reportedly determined to push for a permanent move away from Manchester United during this summer's transfer window.

Due to a breakdown in his relationship with Red Devils head coach Erik ten Hag, Sancho left Old Trafford in January, returning to Borussia Dortmund on loan for the second half of the 2023-24 campaign.

The 23-year-old has made nine appearances for BVB in his second spell at the club, scoring once and providing two assists in the process, with his goal coming against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga last time out.

As it stands, Sancho will return to his parent club this summer, and there have been claims that new minority shareholder Sir Jim Ratcliffe is keen for the England international to stay at Old Trafford.

However, according to Bild, the ex-Manchester City youngster has no desire to attempt to rebuild his reputation at Man United, and he will seek a permanent move this summer.

The report claims that Sancho is not prepared to play under Ten Hag again, although there remains widespread speculation surrounding the manager's future at Old Trafford.

There could be a change in the dug-out this summer, with Ratcliffe and his INEOS team set to carefully monitor the situation in the closing months of the 2023-24 campaign.

A recent report claimed that Dortmund are unlikely to be in a position to sign Sancho permanently this summer and will instead look to sign him on another loan deal for 2024-25.

A strong pre-season had led to suggestions that Sancho would start the 2023-24 campaign in Ten Hag's first XI, but he was only used off the bench in the team's first three league matches.

Sancho was then a notable absentee against Arsenal at the start of September, with Ten Hag suggesting that poor performances in training had contributed to him being left out.

The forward insisted that was not the case in a post on social media, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat", and having refused to apologise to his manager, he was removed from the first-team picture.

Ten Hag suggested on a number of occasions in the following weeks that an apology from the attacker would have seen him brought back into the fold.

Sancho made a high-profile move to Man United from Dortmund in the summer of 2021, but he has struggled during his time at Old Trafford, only managing 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances.
