Everton host Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, aiming to win a third successive top-flight match for the first time since March 2021.
The Blues' position in the table is not reflective of their true on-field form in the 2023/24 campaign. A 10-point deduction has them hoping to climb away from the bottom three, when in reality their true tally would have them one point ahead of their opponents -who have spent over £1bn under their current owner - with the opportunity to move within three points of European qualification.
So why isn't such an integral fixture not part of today's television picks in the United Kingdom?

In the same slot as Everton's tie, Sky Sports are showing Manchester City's visit to Luton Town. Afterwards the other match selected for coverage is Tottenham Hotspur vs Newcastle United.
Both have their own importance with regards to the title race, pushes for European qualification and the relegation battle, but it does not come down to importance.
The Blues have also reached out to the broadcaster to seek clarification of their coverage of the club, its fans and the recent points deduction. Sky have taken a number of decisions of what to and what not to publish with regards to the current situation, but it is completely unrelated to that.
Instead, the reason Everton vs Chelsea is not available for UK supporters comes down to scheduling reasons.
When the match against Newcastle United was eventually confirmed to be an evening kick-off on Thursday, December 7, it forced planners to push back the Chelsea meeting from 3pm on Saturday, December 7 to today at 2pm.
As the match would have taken place during the country's nationwide blackout and was not picked for broadcast in the first place, that fact stays the same when it was rescheduled.
