Travis Kelce hugs Andy Reid after lashing out at Chiefs coach

Now we got bad blood. 

Or do we? 

Travis Kelce and Andy Reid appeared to have made up as quickly as it seemed the internet turned on the Chiefs tight end.

Video of Kelce angrily yelling and seemingly pushing his head coach went viral online, but Kelce went up to Reid and hugged him, according to The Athletic’s Mike Jones. 

The NFL reporter also noted that Reid had patted him on the back, which seemed to indicate things had been reconciled between the two. 

The Chiefs’ frustration seemed to get the better of them during the first half of Super Bowl 2024 as the offense sputtered and they made several costly mistakes. 

Kelce lost his cool during the second quarter after Isiah Pacheco fumbled in the red zone right after former Jets receiver Mecole Hardman had made a 52-yard catch to put the Chiefs on the 9-yard line. 

The caught-on-camera exchange wasn’t the only thing that a frustrated Kelce did. 

CBS’s Tracy Wolfson also reported he had thrown his helmet as he came off the field, which he had also done in December against the Raiders.

Kelce had just one catch for 1 yard in the first half against the 49ers and Kansas City had gone into the locker room at halftime down 10-3. 

The in-game outbursts were a stark contrast to the praise that Kelce had been getting before the start of Super Bowl 2024 after he reportedly gave a rousing speech at the team hotel on Saturday night.

“His speech was powerful, it was impactful. There was not a dry eye in the house and that this team is absolutely ready to go,” Wolfson had reported earlier on Sunday. 

That didn’t seem to stay with the Chiefs as they struggled all night and started the second half with a drive that was cut short by an interception thrown by Patrick Mahomes.
