We simulated Man City vs Tottenham to get a score prediction for huge Premier League clash

Tottenham travel to Premier League champions Manchester City this weekend as Spurs look to get their season back on track

After three successive Premier League defeats, it doesn't get any easier for Tottenham this weekend, as Ange Postecoglu's side travel to Manchester City on Sunday.

Defeats against Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa have seen Spurs drop down to fifth in the Premier League table, but thanks to their excellent start, Postecoglu's men are still only four points off top spot. Their recent form has been hampered by injuries, and although Yves Bissouma returns this weekend, Spurs will still be without at least ten first-team players including Cristian Romero, James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur for the trip to City.

So, could Spurs return to winning ways against City? Let's take a look.

We simulated Man City vs Tottenham to get a score prediction

To complete this simulation, we used EA FC 24 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that City could line up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ederson; Walker, Dias, Gvardiol, Akanji; Rodri, Bernardo, Alvarez; Foden, Doku, Haaland.

We predict that Spurs could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Vicario; Porro, Emerson, Davies, Udogie; Kulusevski, Bissouma, Lo Celso; Johnson, Son, Gil.

Despite their poor recent form, it was Tottenham who started the better of the two sides at the Etihad, with Son Heung-min and Brennan Johnson looking threatening in the opening stages with some mazy runs. But City took the lead in what was their very first attack of the game, and the goal came from an unlikely source.

After pouncing on a loose ball in midfield, Jeremy Doku skinned Pedro Porro on the outside and fired in a low cross, and that cross found Kyle Walker at the back post, who performed a diving header to make it 1-0. And it was 2-0 just a few minutes later, with the Premier League's top scorer Erling Haaland heading in from a corner.

It didn't get any easier for Spurs in the second half, as City continued to dominate. Haaland got his second goal of the game in audacious fashion, with the Norweigan producing a cheeky chip over Guglielmo Vicario after being played through on goal by Julian Alvarez to make it 3-0.

And there was even time for Alvarez to get on the act himself, with the Argentine finishing off a fine team move with a curling finish.

After a bright start, Spurs quickly faded and were unable to deal with City's outstanding quality in this game, in what was a deserved win for Pep Guardiola's side.

EA FC 24 predicted final score: Man City 4-0 Tottenham

EA FC 24 predicts that Tottenham will do well to avoid a thrashing at City this weekend, with Spurs' injury-hit side potentially being unable to deal with Guardiola's side in full flow. But the game did also predict a bright start for the away side, so if they can edge in front in real-life, we might end up seeing a different game completely.

What do you think the score will be this weekend? Let us know in the comments.
