Arsenal face Benjamin Sesko transfer battle as 'meeting' with agent emerges
Latest Arsenal transfer news and gossip with the Gunners reportedly facing competition in the race to sign RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko
by Mark Wakefield · football.londonArsenal could face a challenge to complete the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko due to interest from another club.
The Gunners have been heavily linked with the possibility of signing a striker ever since last summer. Napoli's Victor Osimhen, Bologna's Joshua Zirkzee, Brentford's Ivan Toney and Sporting Lisbon's Victor Gyokeres have all been linked as potential targets.
Sesko has also been tipped to be a potential new addition to Mikel Arteta's squad when the transfer window opens this summer. However, it seems that another club has made an early move to try and sign the striker.
According to Italian news outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport, AC Milan have made their interest in Sesko clear ahead of the summer transfer window.
It has been claimed that the Serie A giants have made Sesko a priority target for this summer, as they look to sign a replacement for Olivier Giroud, who is set to join LAFC in Major League Soccer.
The report claims that Milan may have the advantage over Arsenal after already holding a meeting with Sesko's representatives. It has been stated that Milan could be willing to pay €50 million (£43 million) in order to sign Sesko this summer.

However, there have been reports that the aforementioned fee is Sesko's original release clause. There have been suggestions that thanks to the striker's form this season, that clause has increased to €65 million (£56 million), with suggestions it could increase even further up to €73 million (£63 million).
Sesko has scored 17 goals in 43 appearances for Leipzig in all competitions this season and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester United.
The 20-year-old is nearing the end of his first season with the Bundesliga club, after leaving Red Bull Salzburg last summer to move to Germany in a deal reportedly worth around £20 million.
