With the new Premier League season slowly approaching, players are getting excited about a new season of Fantasy Premier League, but when does the 2024/25 FPL season launch?

A thrilling 2023/24 Premier League campaign was partnered with another exciting FPL season, with most of the big hitters taking the backseat as differentials stole the spotlight. Chelsea's Cole Palmer ended the season as the highest-scoring FPL player of the season as he registered 244 points, while Arsenal defensive trio Ben White (182), William Saliba (164), and Gabriel (149) were the three highest-scoring FPL defenders.

As always in FPL, some bargains impressed with the likes of Jean Phillipe-Mateta, Palmer, Anthony Gordon, and Dominik Solanke all impressing for such low prices, but with the season now over, players will start looking forward to the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League campaign.

Fantasy Premier League (FPL) 2024/25 start date

The Premier League has yet to confirm the start date for the 2024/25 Fantasy Premier League season, but based on past editions, we expect the 2024/25 FPL season to begin on Friday, July 5. The Premier League transfer window officially opens on Friday, June 14, but for domestic transfers only.

International deals and free transfers will start to go through from Monday, July 1, just a few days before the FPL season is expected to launch. The Premier League season has been confirmed to start on the weekend of August 16/17, but with the last three seasons all having a Friday night kick-off, we expect the upcoming campaign to begin on Friday, August 15.

This means that players will have over a month to build and ready their FPL squads ahead of the new season, giving them plenty of time to make changes based on transfers, injuries, or who have impressed them the most during pre-season. The deadline to finalise your FPL team has been 90 minutes before the first game of the gameweek in recent years, and we expect this to stay the same once again.

In the build-up to the FPL start date, the Premier League will start to reveal player prices for the upcoming FPL season, which usually includes some of the most expensive players in the game. Last year, 20 prices were announced a week before the official start date, including the two most expensive players in the game, Erling Haaland and Mohamed Salah.

Expect to see big price hikes for some of last season's bargains. Palmer started the 2023/24 season at just £5million, and he could easily cost closer to £10million this time around. The same can be said for Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins who started the previous campaign at £8million. More than likely, the striker will be £10million plus in the 24/25 version of the game.
