Arsenal make huge Kingsley Coman transfer decision as Mikel Arteta deadline day priority clear
Latest Arsenal transfer news with a big update coming to light on Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman
by Kieran Horn · football.londonArsenal are one club to have explored a move for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman, new reports have claimed. The France international is keen to embark on a new challenge and therefore appears free to leave Bayern in this summer's transfer window.
Saudi Arabian side Al Hilal have since shown a keen interest to sign Coman with the German giants valuing him between £42million (€50m) and £50.5million (€60m). Talk of a move being agreed for Coman to the Middle East had emerged but Coman's agent Christian Emile rubbished those claims.
Now, the Mail is reporting that the Gunners have explored a swoop of Coman before transfer deadline day. Despite talk of a move elsewhere, Coman appeared off the bench for the final 15 minutes of Bayern's 3-2 Bundesliga victory over Wolfsburg at the weekend.
The 28-year-old still has three years remaining on his contract and it remains to be seen if Arsenal can afford to sign him permanently. Because of the finances involved, a loan switch to north London seems more likely, though it is unclear if Bayern and Coman himself would accept that.
Having confirmed the arrival of Mikel Merino, an acquisition in the frontline looks most likely if Arsenal are to complete a fifth signing before deadline day. David Raya, Tommy Setford, Riccardo Calafiori and Merino have already joined with Emile Smith Rowe departing permanently. He is expected to soon be joined by Crystal Palace-bound Eddie Nketiah.
Aaron Ramsdale is another on the verge of sealing a permanent exit with Southampton having agreed a deal in the region of £25million with the Gunners. As the England international is on his way out of Emirates Stadium, interest has been stepped up in Espanyol's Joan Garcia.

Alternatives to Coman have been looked at with Brighton's Simon Adingra as one option. Chelsea's Raheem Sterling and Jadon Sancho of Manchester United are other wingers that could be on the move in the final hours of the window, though the Gunners moving for either seems unlikely.
