Samu Omorodion sends Chelsea transfer message after Man United masterclass
Chelsea summer transfer target Samu Omorodion was a standout player against Manchester United
by Stephen Killen · football.londonFormer Chelsea target Samu Omorodion inspired a comeback for Porto as they drew Manchester United in the Europa League.
The 20-year-old scored twice as the Portuguese side stunned the Red Devils on Thursday night. Erik ten Hag's side raced into a two-goal lead through Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Holjund inside 20 minutes.
However, their strong start quickly unravelled when Pepe gambled on Andre Onana's save and minutes later, the Spaniard levelled with a powerful header. And five minutes after the restart, Omorodion swept home a thunderous effort.

And United's evening in Portugal got worse when Bruno Fernandes was shown a red card, for the second consecutive match, after receiving a second yellow card for a high boot. But they did manage to earn a point thanks to Harry Maguire's late equaliser.
The showing from Omorodion pose an insight into what might've been for Enzo Maresca's side. Chelsea came close to signing the Atletico Madrid forward after agreeing a £34.5million deal with the La Liga side, as he was expected to sign a seven-year deal.
However, a major problem occurred resulting in the deal being off. Chelsea moved for Joao Felix as a result but Omorodion made the switch to the Portuguese top-flight.
Already, he has four goals in as many league outings for Porto, getting himself on the scoresheet on his debut against Farense. He said: "It's an inexplicable feeling to play at Estádio do Dragão, in front of our fans. I am very happy for my first goal with FC Porto's shirt and for having contributed to the victory."
