Pep Guardiola dealt fresh Man City injury blow after just eight minutes vs Newcastle

Manchester City goalkeeper has been forced off with an injury just five minutes into his side's Premier League clash with Newcastle at Saint James' Park

Manchester City have lost Ederson to injury just eight minutes into their clash with Newcastle.

The Brazil international was hurt while defending against an attack from Alexander Isak and Sean Longstaff after the Swede picked out his teammate in the box.

Longstaff netted past Ederson but collided with the keeper in the process as the offside flag was raised and the goal was eventually ruled out.

Ederson, though, was unable to recover from the clash despite doing his best to play on and was eventually replaced by Stefan Ortega. The Brazilian was greeted on the touchline by his boss Pep Guardiola before making his way straight down the tunnel.
