Paris Olympics day three guide: Team GB medal hopes, the must-see event and TV details
There are 18 gold medals to be won on day two with big chances of Team GB men winning four of them as Tom Daley takes to the diving platform this morning and the 200m freestyle swimmers finish the day off
by Alan Smith · The MirrorFrom Tom Daley on the diving platform to Tom Pidcock on his bike, there are high hopes of a medal rush from some of the big men's names in the British team today.
A quartet of golds can not be ruled out with 18 in total up for grabs across the Games' third day.
Diver Daley and Noah Williams go for gold in the 10m synchro at 10am, while Pidcock looks to retain his mountain bike title despite complaining about the course being "bland" at lunchtime.
Here is your whistle-stop guide to what to watch, when and how, plus the day’s biggest names.
The medals
Five of the day's 18 golds will be won in the swimming pool tonight but Daley and Williams will battle for Manic Monday's first piece of glory and there is a steady stream of action from that point until late in the evening, where the action concludes at the swimming pool.
The British audience will tune in to the men's mountain bike, canoe slalom and gymnastics at before thinking about finales in archery, equestrianism, fencing, judo and shooting.
Team GB
Beyond Daley and Pidcock, the men’s gymnastic team led by Max Whitlock have a shot at the podium at 4:30pm, while there could be two medals in the men’s 200m freestyle at 7:43pm as Matt Richards and Duncan Scott line up. And do not rule out a piece of bling for Adam Burgess in the canoe slalom at 2:30pm.
Star to watch
Again, Daley is the big name from a British point of view but much of the global attention will be trained on Canadian teenager Summer McIntosh - the 17-year-old is already a double world champion, won a silver on Saturday, and has already broken her own world record in the 400m medley. That final gets underway at 7:30pm.
If you can only catch one event
It has to be the 200m freestyle. Richards and Scott are both confident - but the Romanian teenager David Popovici, world champion in 2022, fancies his chances too.
How to watch
Every single kick, swing, stride and stumble will be shown live on discovery+, with a monthly package costing £3.99. BBC are broadcasting from the opening event until the last every day but can only show two pieces of live action and one of those will be on the iPlayer.
