Tommy Fury says 'proud to announce' after giving post-surgery update on hand amid 'torture'

by Jessica Sansome · Manchester Evening NewsTommy Fury said he was 'proud' as he announced his next move after giving a post-surgery update on an injury that plagued him for years. The boxer shocked his fans and followers as he shared a snap from a hospital bed in January.
Tommy, 24, had been seen the day before celebrating his daughter Bambi's first birthday alongside Molly-Mae, also 24, before he underwent a procedure on his hand, saying he had been dealing with the hand injury that he hadn't spoken about for four years and that he would be taking time away from his boxing career to "heal".
Molly-Mae then later shared that Tommy's injury previously caused "so many problems" for them both. She also said him not being able to use his right hand after the surgery had really impacted "everyday life".

However, sharing a picture of his bandage-free hand to his Instagram Story, the former Love Island star offered an update. He said: "Had a great appointment today with the doctor, he said it's healing ver well and it's exactly where it needs to be!"
Tommy continued: "I can now return to light weight training using both hands. So happy to get this news as you all know I love my weight training. Next step will be slowly getting back to punching... I am so excited to be finally training again. It's been torture not being able to do any!"
He then added as he rounded off his post: "I'll be back better than every before. Counting down the weeks before I'm back in the ring."

Meanwhile, Tommy has been keeping himself busy as he revealed he's releasing his first book. The dad-of-one confirmed the news in an Instagram post, writing: "I’m proud to announce… I have written my first book!
"Find out what my life is like juggling many identities: A professional boxer, TV star, mental health advocate, fiancé and father. Coming this October, but available to pre-order now… link on my story! #LightningCanStrikeTwice."

And Molly-Mae was quick to show her support as she replied: "So proud of you." Her sister Zoe Hague also shared: "Love it!!! Can’t wait to read." Meanwhile, half-brother Tyson Fury shared the post to his Instagram Story and after encouraging his fans to pre-order he added: "Lightning does strike twice in the Fury family."
