Manchester United defenders Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw have returned to full first-team training ahead of Sunday's match against Newport County in the FA Cup.

Maguire has not played since picking up a groin injury against Bayern Munich on December 12, but he took part in training on Tuesday following the conclusion of the January break.

Shaw was also present with the main group at Carrington. The left-back hasn't featured since sustaining an injury against West Ham just before Christmas, although he only missed out on being part of the squad to face Tottenham because he failed a late fitness test.

Both players should be available for selection against Newport County this weekend and Erik ten Hag will give an update on the pair, along with the remaining team news, on Friday.

Amad was also spotted in training after being absent from matchday squads against Wigan and Spurs. The youngster is another expected to be available on Sunday.

The winger sustained a knee injury in pre-season and made his return to action with a substitute appearance against Nottingham Forest before the New Year.

Ten Hag has decided to keep Amad around the first team and he will fight with Alejandro Garnacho and Antony to start on the right until the end of the season.

Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia (knee), Anthony Martial and Mason Mount (calf) all remain sidelined and unavailable. They did not take part in full training on Tuesday.

Martial was absent over Christmas and New Year with illness and although he's understood to have recovered from that problem, he is now struggling with a hip injury.
