Journalists banned from Ten Hag press conference

Manchester Evening News were among the outlets that were banned by United from Tuesday afternoon's press conference over coverage of their worst start to a season since the club was last relegated.

The MEN and three other outlets were blocked from attending Ten Hag's pre-match press conference, staged to preview their impending match with Chelsea on Wednesday night (8.15pm). Another newspaper was banned last month after they wrote that Ten Hag was "on thin ice" at Old Trafford.

Ten Hag claims there are no issues behind the scenes

Ten Hag reckons there are "no issues" at United - despite a 10th defeat of the season against Newcastle.

United have lost 10 of their 21 fixtures so far this season, are bottom of Champions League Group A with a minus goal difference and seventh in the Premier League standings with a -1 goal difference.

Newcastle ejected United from the League Cup - the only competition that the club have won in the last six-and-a-half-years - and there are mounting doubts over Ten Hag among players in the United squad.

United responded to unflattering coverage in the wake of the Newcastle defeat by banning journalists, including the Manchester Evening News, from Ten Hag's pre-match press conference against Chelsea on Tuesday.

Ten Hag was asked whether he was concerned by the flurry of reports detailing disgruntlement at the club.
