Man United make Old Trafford decision as plan for Man City showdown revealed
Manchester United have confirmed which Women's Super League fixtures they will play at Old Trafford next season
by Beth Lindop · Manchester Evening NewsManchester United have confirmed they will play three Women's Super League (WSL) matches at Old Trafford next season, including a potentially decisive Manchester derby in May.
The Reds play the majority of their home games at Leigh Sports Village, the home of rugby league side Leigh Leopards. However, Marc Skinner's side did play twice at the Theatre of Dreams last term and are now set to add a further game to their Old Trafford allocation in 2024/25.
United will face West Ham United at the stadium on the opening weekend of the campaign (September 21/22) before hosting newly-promoted Crystal Palace on the weekend of February 15/16. The Reds will then welcome local rivals Manchester City to Old Trafford on May 3/4 in a game that could have a bearing on the destination of the WSL title.

City did the double over United last season, including a 3-1 win at the Theatre of Dreams in November, and finished 20 points above Skinner's side, pushing champions Chelsea all the way in the title race. The Reds, who finished in fifth place, will hope for a very different outcome next term as they seek to add more silverware to their Women's FA Cup trophy.
"It’s always such a pleasure to play at Old Trafford and the entire squad are really looking forward to returning there for our season opener against West Ham," said manager Skinner.
“To then also be back to face Crystal Palace mid-season and then close our WSL campaign against Manchester City is really something for all our great fans to be excited for - and we cannot wait for them all to pack the stands for all three games.”
United have introduced the Old Trafford Bundle - entitling fans to tickets to all three matches for a reduced price - to encourage as many people as possible to show their support for the women's team. The record attendance for a United Women's game is currently the 43,615 set in that Manchester derby defeat eight months ago.
An adult match ticket bundle is priced at £30, with reduced rates for men's Season Ticket holders, juniors and United members. Fans can also purchase United Women season tickets which include entry to all games the team play, both at Leigh Sports Village and Old Trafford.
