Manchester United are not out of the Champions League but their fate in the competition hangs firmly in the balance.

After 20 minutes, the Reds looked like they would be in pole position to qualify for the knockout stages. Alejandro Garnacho and Bruno Fernandes' quality goals had given United a foothold at Galatasaray.

Hakim Ziyech pulled one back on half an hour but the visitors regrouped after the restart and added a third through Scott McTominay. However, Onana's mistake from a second Ziyech goal allowed the hosts back into the match with Muhammed Kerem Akturkoglou ensuring the points were shared in Turkey.

This result meant United knew they would be out of the Champions League if FC Copenhagen beat Bayern Munich in the late kick-off. Thankfully, they were held to a goalless draw by the Bundesliga champions to keep the Reds' qualification hopes alive.

But, there is very little cause to celebrate if you are a supporter of the Manchester club. Erik ten Hag's men have a tough route ahead of them should they wish to reach the knockout stages.

On the final matchday, United must beat Bayern. If they fail to do this, they will be out of the Champions League no matter what happens in the other game.

If the Reds keep their end of the bargain, they must hope Galatasaray and Copenhagen play out a stalemate to advance to the knockout stages. A win for either side in that match will see them progress with Bayern to the next round.
