Sven-Goran Eriksson’s final public message before his death
by Don Silas · Daily PostFormer England manager, Sven-Goran Eriksson, gave a touching message in his final public appearance prior to his death.
Eriksson passed away at the age of 76 on Monday.
The Swede died after battling with pancreatic cancer.
He was in charge of England’s ‘Golden Generation’ men’s football team from 2001 to 2006.
However, before his death, Eriksson revealed in January this year that he hope that football fans would remember him, adding that he had ‘best case a year’ to live.
“I hope you will remember me as a positive guy trying to do everything he could do,” Eriksson had said.
“Don’t be sorry, smile. Thank you for everything, coaches, players, the crowds, it’s been fantastic. Take care of yourself and take care of your life. And live it.”
Meanwhile, a new documentary about Eriksson’s life was released on Amazon Prime last Friday.
