Where Plymouth Argyle stand with Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Lewis Warrington
The pair are on loan to the Pilgrims from Aston Villa and Everton respectively, although Warrington is currently out injured
by Chris Errington · PlymouthLiveDirector of football Neil Dewsnip has given updates on the state of play over Plymouth Argyle loan pair Kaine Kesler-Hayden and Lewis Warrington.
Kesler-Hayden has impressed as a full-back or wing-back in 18 starts and five substitute appearances for the Pilgrims in the Championship this season after joining from Aston Villa. However, Warrington has played only two league games since he arrived from Everton in July and is currently recovering from an injury.
Season-long loan signings can be recalled by their parent clubs in January, as was the case when Villa activated the option in their deal with Argyle for midfielder Finn Azaz so they could sell him to Middlesbrough for £2.5 million.

On whether there was any possibility of Kesler-Hayden being recalled by Villa, Dewsnip said: "A conversation has been had, and I'm not aware that that is the case. The problem with football, of course, is that things move very quickly, as we all know, but I would take people by their word and Aston Villa don't - or didn't - have an agenda to do anything with Kaine."
As for Warrington, Dewsnip said: "He's at Everton, he's recovering as I think have mentioned previously, and as soon as that is established then we will have that discussion, but as far as I'm aware he recovers and comes back here."
Argyle have had a lot of success with their loan signings over recent seasons, and it led to them signing Morgan Whittaker and Bali Mumba for joint club record £1 million transfer fees last July after successful spells at Home Park last term.
However, the departure of Azaz, who had been in excellent form for Argyle, highlights why that strategy can also work against clubs.
Dewsnip said: "We have done really well in the loan market the last few years. It has been a major reason for our successes, but the negative side is they are not our players and can be recalled."
