India look to test bench strength in final T20I against Sri Lanka

The India team is expected to make some changes to their playing eleven for the third and final T20I against Sri Lanka on Tuesday. With the series already sealed, the visitors may give opportunities to some players on the bench in Pallekele.

Washington Sundar could replace Axar Patel for the last game. The off-spinner found his rhythm in the recent Zimbabwe matches and will be eager for more game time. All-rounder Shivam Dube is also expected to feature as the management may try different batting options ahead of the ODI series.

Left-arm quick Khaleel Ahmed may replace Arshdeep Singh for the dead rubber. Wicketkeeper Sanju Samson could be handed the gloves instead of Rishabh Pant to give the latter a break before the longer format games.

The home team may look to strengthen their fragile middle order after two disappointing batting collapses. Experienced batter Dinesh Chandimal is one option to add stability in the middle overs. Avishka Fernando has been among the runs in domestic cricket and could replace an out-of-form top order player.
