NFL 2024 Super Wild Card Weekend DFS picks: Top DraftKings, FanDuel daily Fantasy football picks for Saturday
DFS pro Mike McClure has revealed his best NFL DFS picks for Kansas City Chiefs vs. Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns vs. Houston Texans on Saturday for 2024 Super Wild Card Weekend
· CBS SportsTwo of the top three quarterbacks in passing yards per game this season will go head-to-head on Saturday. Browns quarterback Joe Flacco, who wasn't in the NFL until Week 12, leads the league in passing yards per game (323.2) over his five contests. He's thrown for at least 300 yards in four straight games. The Cleveland Browns will visit the Houston Texans on Super Wild Card Weekend. Houston is led by C.J. Stroud, who finished third in the league in passing yards per game (273.9) in his rookie campaign. Does this mean NFL DFS players should utilize either of these quarterbacks for NFL DFS stacks?
Miami's Tua Tagovailoa is averaging 272 yards per game, the most for any quarterback playing all 17 games. Could there be week-winning performances from his pass-catchers on Saturday? Top NFL DFS picks for Super Wild Card Weekend Saturday
One of McClure's top NFL DFS picks for Sunday Night Football is Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. The 11-year veteran has been one of the most consistent performers in the postseason over recent years, scoring at least one touchdown in all six postseason games he's played over the last two seasons. Kelce averaged nine receptions for 85.7 yards per game with four total touchdowns during Kansas City's run to the Super Bowl last season. He has at least 95 yards in seven of his last nine postseason games with at least 75 yards in all nine contests.
This has been a down season for the entire Chiefs offense, highlighted by Kelce and Patrick Mahomes finishing significantly below their career averages in categories such as yards and touchdowns. But Kelce still finished just 16 yards shy of his eighth straight season of 1,000 yards, despite missing two games this year. Come postseason time, McClure expects the Mahomes-Kelce connection to shine again against Miami, who is missing key defensive pieces entering Saturday. The Dolphins allowed the eight-most receptions and tied for the fourth-most touchdowns to opposing tight ends this season. Look for Kelce and Kansas City to take advantage of that.
Part of McClure's optimal NFL DFS strategy also includes rostering Texans receiver Nico Collins. The third-year receiver has more receptions (80), yards (1,297) and touchdowns (eight) this year than his first two seasons combined. He led Houston in all three categories as it didn't take long for him and C.J. Stroud to form one of the best connections in the NFL. Collins has a 73.4% catch rate, the eighth-best for receivers in the NFL this season, including hauling in 16 receptions on 17 targets over the last two contests.
Collins had nine receptions for 195 yards and a touchdown and he and Stroud have been playing some of their best football together in recent weeks. Outside of a 30-6 loss to the Jets on a rainy afternoon when nothing was working well for the Houston offense, Collins is averaging 142.5 yards per game over his last four contests playing alongside Stroud. He has two games of at least 190 yards during that span and is in line for heavy usage yet again on Saturday. Collins is averaging 9.8 targets per game over his last five games with Stroud and McClure expects another productive performance from the 24-year-old receiver on Saturday.
