'Nottingham Forest have the greatest guy ever in Steve Cooper'
The latest Nottingham Forest news as Wes Morgan has delivered his verdict on Steve Cooper amid pressure claims over his job
by Amie Wilson · NottinghamshireLiveNottingham Forest have been told by former defender Wes Morgan that they have the "greatest guy ever" in manager Steve Cooper, with the Welshman backed to continue to oversee the progress of the club.
Cooper has reportedly been under increased pressure from the club’s hierarchy this week following last weekend’s 3-2 loss against Brighton and Hove Albion at the City Ground. Latest reports, however, claim that the head coach retains the full support of owner Evangelos Marinakis.
Cooper is a popular figure among fans, having led the club to promotion and Premier League safety last season. Former captain Morgan has hailed the job that he has done at the club and has outlined how that can continue.

“I’ve been to a few Forest games, spoke to Steve Cooper, greatest guy ever,” he told The Times after being appointed to the board of Kick It Out. “(He’s) Done a great job for Forest getting them out of the Championship, from the position they were in, into the Premier League and survive that first season, this season and hopefully push on a little bit.
“Forest have got a great squad, got owners that will back the team and invest which is great. Forest are in a good position, they just need to stay consistent, hopefully the main players stay fit and they can progress this season.”
Forest will look to get back to winning ways on Saturday when they take on Everton at the City Ground (5.30pm kick-off). The Toffees go into the game in the relegation zone following their 10-point deduction for breaking the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
