Facing the criticism that he had not been as challenged as his South African counterpart, Nigerian goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali spoke out in a Youtube short video.
The Nigerian goalkeeper expressed that he understood that criticism was part of football moments, and he did not let it affect him personally.
Nwaballi confessed that no matter what the critics said, he would not stop supporting his team and giving his best to see super eagles’ achieve victory.
In a brief chat with Ayomide Oguntimehin, a sports journalist with 7 years of experience covering football locally and internationally, he gave a general overview of Nwabali's performance.
In his conversation with Legit.ng, he said:
"He has been at top level considering his clean sheet and his performance at the semi-final against South Africa. It is expected that he will be strong regardless of the criticism in the final against Ivory Coast. He is one goalkeeper who has proven himself in this tournament."

Married lady shares rare video of Nwabali
Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that a Nigerian lady, identified as Debby, has shared a picture and video she took with Super Eagles goalie Stanley Nwabali back in 2020.
In the throwback photo shared on TikTok, Nwabali wore a white singlet as he posed with the lady. Debby shared the throwback picture after being criticised for sharing a clip that showed her on a video call with Nwabali.
The 27-year-old could be seen on a bed as he interacted with the lady who claimed she was from his community. Debby's attempt to show her closeness to Nwabali still earned her criticism.
Nigeria's goalkeeper appreciates his fans
In another related story, Legit.ng reported that Super Eagles and Chippa United FC goalkeeper, Stanley Nwabali, has been appreciated everyone who made Nigeria's win possible.
Nwabali, who was voted man of the match against South Africa, refused to take the credit following Nigeria’s penalty shootout as he attributed his victory to the Super Eagles tea.
The goalkeeper saved two penalty kicks to win against South Africa on Tuesday night. While making his speech, he thanked Nigerians, his management, and his coaches. Nwabali has been in excellent performance since the start of the AFCON tournament.
