Rafa Nadal included in entry list for 2024 Australian Open

The two-time winner looks likely to make his return to Grand Slam action after a year out with injury.

Rafael Nadal looks set to return to Grand Slam action after his name was included in the entry list for January's Australian Open.

The two-time winner hasn't played since losing in the second round of this year's event in Melbourne. He was beaten by Mackenzie McDonald and received treatment for a hip-injury during the match.

The 22-time Grand Slam champion has already confirmed his comeback which will take place at the Brisbane International which begins on December 31st.

Nick Kyrgios however looks set to miss the first Grand Slam of 2024. The Australian, a Wimbledon finalist in 2022, missed all four majors this year due to injury.

Krygios said last month that, "the stars would need to align" for him to be fit for the Australian Open although he could be awared a wildcard if he is fit to play.

Women's world number one Iga Swiatek and defending champion Aryna Sabalenka are both on the entry list and could resume their intense rivalry.

Former champions Naomi Osaka, Caroline Wozniacki and Angelique Kerber will all return to Melbourne Park after time away from the game to have children.
