PSG turn attention to another Leeds player after Pascal Struijk – Potentially complicated deal to pull off
by Thomas Coast · Sport WitnessShopping around for a centre-back in the January transfer window, Paris Saint-Germain have set their sights on another unlikely target: a second Leeds United player.
Technically, he is on loan at AS Roma, but the latest information from journalist Bertrand Latour for L’Equipe’s TV Channel is that the Ligue 1 side are ‘interested’ in Diego Llorente.
That’s all the information there is for the time being, but it means that, as things stand, Paris Saiint-Germain could end up being in some kind of talks with Leeds about the Spaniard.
This comes after Pascal Struijk was linked with the French club late last year, with it said they were after the Leeds star for a number of weeks, with a move likelier in the summer.
It appears that Llorente would be more for January, as he would be far cheaper, but there are some questions that need to be answered, since AS Roma do have an obligation to buy in their loan if certain conditions are met.
Now, if there is a chance they could make a profit on the pre-agreed fee with Leeds, then there’s every chance they will trigger that early and sell him on for more money, as long as they can find a replacement.
If they refuse to do that, then Paris Saint-Germain will have to negotiate with Leeds and AS Roma to find an agreeable settlement for both clubs.
Either way, Diego Llorente has caught the eye of the Champions League side in a story we’ll be keeping an eye on.
