Agent heralds player’s progress – Clear why Fulham are interested in rising star
by Sean Lunt · Sport WitnessBologna rising star Lewis Ferguson has the ‘ability and determination to play at the highest levels’ and already has clubs all over Europe interested in him.
That’s according to his agent Bill McMurdo, who has praised the 24-year-old midfielder as he continues to be linked with a move, particularly to Fulham.
Ferguson has been labelled something of a ‘revelation’ for the Italian side, who he joined in a €2m deal from Aberdeen in July 2022.
Since then, he’s managed 11 goals and four assists in 52 games for the club, with this year proving to be a breakout one for him as he’s managed four goals and three assists in 18 games in Serie A to date.
That’s seen several clubs linked with a potential move, including Fulham, who were believed to be hovering looking at a deal back in November.
That saw Ferguson described as something of a bargain, with Bologna even rubbing their hands at a potential sale and the profit they could make should Fulham put a bid in.
That’s not happened as yet but his agent is not surprised in the growing interest in his client, praising him and his progress today.
“He is lucky to work with Motta,” he said.
“They have great respect for each other, and this connection benefits both the coach and Lewis. Both now and in the future.
“I was convinced that Lewis would have a better season than the previous one. Every year since he became a professional, he has grown as a player. This factor will also characterise his experience at Bologna, because he is a true student of football.
“He wants to develop every aspect of his game; he has the ability and determination to play at the highest levels.
“In the last year the big Italian teams have shown their interest in Lewis, however English, Spanish and French clubs have also set their sights on him.
“He will move when the time is right both for him and for Bologna. He loves being in Italy, especially because his team is doing very well.”
Certainly one for Fulham fans to keep an eye on, as Lewis Ferguson goes from strength to strength.
