Newcastle United dragged into manager drama that would see Eddie Howe exit – Feels like it may be PR

Newcastle United have been dragged into a huge Bild am Sonntag article which is essentially a celebration of Edin Terzic and how he’s gone from almost being sacked at Christmas to on the verge of Champions League glory.

To cut to the chase, Bild claim Newcastle are one of three Premier League clubs who are thinking about appointing the Borussia Dortmund manager this summer.

The Magpies will be disappointed to have not kicked on from Champions League qualification last season, but Eddie Howe has had to deal with many injuries, and Newcastle have been one of the clubs hit the hardest in that regard.

Finishing sixth is certainly therefore no shame, and it would be a surprise if they were to show Howe the door at the end of the campaign. It would be even more of a surprise if they were to do that and then appoint 41-year-old Terzic.

This all feels like some PR for the Borussia Dortmund boss, and the German media love linking Premier League clubs to do that.
