Club ‘enquired’ about Coventry City man – Sky Blues against exit for key reason
by Kaustubh Pandey · Sport WitnessCoventry City full-back Milan van Ewijk has made a good start to the season, scoring once and assisting once in the Championship so far.
He was a reliable figure for Coventry last season too but his future has been in doubt this summer.
Dutch journalist Marco Timmer has reported about interest from Eredivisie club PSV Eindhoven after they recently came forward and ‘enquired’ about the defender.
Despite the attempt to seek information, they didn’t follow it up with an offer. SoccerNews.NL have also reported that PSV asked Coventry about the player, who is valued at around €8m right now.
Having said that, Timmer also reported that PSV would find it rather difficult to sign the 23-year-old at this point of the summer transfer window.
The Sky Blues’ view is that they do not want to let Van Ewijk leave at this late stage, so PSV have likely left any effort too late.
This is quite similar to what we covered earlier this month, with Timmer himself having suggested that the move to PSV ‘can be dismissed’. That still seems to be the case and it is likely that Van Ewijk will stay at Coventry.
