A man in his 20s from Liverpool has died after his car crashed into a tree in Ormskirk.

Lancashire Police have issued an appeal for information after a man died in a car crash. The man was driving a Renault Megane which crashed into a tree on Wanisher Lane in Ormskirk on Friday, December 15.

The driver suffered serious injures and died in the accident while a passenger, a man also in his 20s, suffered minor injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police arrived at the crash shortly before 9.50 on Friday evening. In a statement, Sgt Paul McCurrie, of the Road Policing Unit, said: “Very sadly this collision has resulted in a young man losing his life and our thoughts are with his loved ones. I would appeal to anyone who saw the collision itself or the Renault Megane in the moments before to get in touch. I would also appeal to anyone who may have any dashcam footage to contact us.”
