Drivers warned as several M4 closures announced for the week ahead

Some disruption is expected with a number of key routes closing for repair work

Motorists are set to be hit by several closures on the M4 this week which will see some key routes shut. A number of road closures will take place this week as maintenance and repair work is carried out on the network.

The most prominent closures will take place around Cardiff, Newport and Swansea and in most cases will occur in the evenings and mornings. People are being advised to allow for extra travel time as a result. It comes after weekend roadworks caused severe delays to motorists and public transport on Saturday, February 25.   • Junction 33 Capel Llanilltern to 32 Coryton will be closed eastbound from February 19 to February 27 between 8pm and 6am each day due to resurfacing work
  • Junction 47 Penllergaer will be closed westbound from February 19 to February 28 between 8pm and 6am due to resurfacing work
  • Junction 34 Miskin to junction 32 Coryton will be closed eastbound from February 19 to February 27 between 8pm and 6am each day due to resurfacing work
  • Junction 47 Penllergaer will be closed westbound from February 22 to February 27 between 8pm and 6am due to resurfacing work
  • Junction 24 Coldra to junction 28 Tredegar will be closed westbound at the tunnel and entry slip road from February 26 to March 2 between 8pm and 6am due to maintenance work
  • Junction 32 Coryton to junction 33 Capel Llanilltern will be shut eastbound from February 26 to March 8 between 8pm and 6am due to resurfacing work
