A young woman has died after falling from a moving van. Leah Senior, 27, passed away following an incident in Wakefield, West Yorkshire, on Wednesday.

She fell from a moving Transit van on Denby Dale Road, Yorkshire Live reports. Tributes have been paid to Leah, from Huddersfield, after she was confirmed as the victim of the tragedy.

Tammy Longstaff said: “That poor beautiful girl. A life taken so early.” Lauren Parr wrote: “I went to school with her. RIP Leah.” While Debs Rodd added: “So very sad. My heart goes out to all her loved ones.”

Lindsey Stephens said: “So sad. What a beautiful young lady.” Jo Wood commented: “I’m lost for words. Such a beautiful young girl.

Donita Esteve said: “Bless her soul. Such a beautiful girl. Her family needs answers. Absolutely tragic. RIP Leah.” Another comment came from Tom Kitchen-Dunn, who said: “Lovely lass, just awful news.”

A 25-year-old Kirklees man, who was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and drug driving offences, has been bailed pending further enquiries. Police would like to speak to anyone in the area of the Denby Dale Road and Hollin Lane between 8.20 and 8.40pm who saw or has footage of the incident or who saw the white Transit van just prior to the incident.
