Android 15 Beta 4.1 update arrives with fix to Pixel calling bug
by Jean Leon · Android HeadlinesAndroid 15 beta 4 arrived this month as the “last” beta update before the stable rollout in August. However, it seems that the company saw fit to release a hotfix in the form of Android 15 Beta 4.1 to resolve a particular bug that was impacting a key function. All owners of eligible Google Pixel devices can now download and install the new update.
After installing Android 15 beta 4, some users reported problems related to voice calls. According to the reports, there were sudden audio cuts without apparent explanation. Well, the latest Android 15 Beta 4.1 update is now available with the fix for said bug. The official changelog mentions the following: “Fixed various issues that sometimes caused device audio to crash while making or receiving calls.”

The changelog does not include anything beyond the correction of the bug that was affecting calls. The company considered that it was necessary to solve a problem that was affecting such a critical aspect of a phone. This is expected to be the last Android 15 beta update before the stable rollout, unless some other unexpected bug affecting important features arises in the middle.
The new update has the build number AP31.240617.010 and retains the July security patch level. It’s noteworthy that the Android 15 beta entered the “Platform Stability” status since the beta 3 update. This means that the OS is stable enough to use it in your daily driver without too many problems. Interestingly, the beta 3 update also got its own hotfix for a lockscreen bug. Now, this beta 4.1 update is likely to be very similar to the stable update that will be available for Pixel users starting in August.
All eligible Pixel devices running Android 15 beta 4 should receive a notification that the 4.1 update is available. However, you can do a manual check from your Pixel Settings menu. You can also manually download and install the update if you prefer.
