Cadbury admits supply chain issue means Roses tubs are different this year
Tubs of Roses chocolates are a staple for many at Christmas time
by Isabelle Bates, https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/authors/isabelle-bates/ · Birmingham LiveFans of a certain Cadbury's Roses flavour have been left disappointed after "supply chain issues" mean that they are absent from a number of tubs. The chocolates are a staple for many at Christmas.
But customers have already complained that there are no orange creams in their offerings. One shopper purchased eight tubs of Roses to check the distribution of the nine classic flavours.
They announced the "shocking" results on social media. "Roses counted! Shocking spread! ZERO TANGO ORANGE CREME. ONLY CARAMEL. 84 Dairy milk though!" they wrote on X.

In a reply, a spokesperson for Cadbury said: 'Hi, this year, a small percentage of Cadbury Roses products will not contain any Orange Cremes due to supply chain challenges. But don't worry, you'll still be able to enjoy the same amount of chocolate as usual as we’ve replaced them with our much-loved Strawberry Cremes."
This angers some customers, who said that strawberry creme was not a sufficient replacement. One X user commented: 'Definitely the worst flavour distribution yet. I could somewhat pass having 0 orange ones in a box as unlucky, but not in numerous boxes!'
A second added: 'This is shocking. This is bordering on illegal. No equality whatsoever. The police and trading standards must be informed immediately. All I read is "we have replaced the best chocolate with the worst chocolate".'
"This is unacceptable," another said. "It should clearly state on the box: This tub of Roses does not contain orange cremes. We apologise for inconvenience caused by not having orange cremes. We realise that strawberry cremes are a poor replacement'".
