Represented by Sime Darby Swedish Auto and Sisma Auto, Volvo is among the brands taking part in ACE 2024, and it has brought along its latest model, the EX30 that was launched in Malaysia just a month ago. Compact it may be, but the EX30 majors of tech, performance and of course, safety.

Its powertrain is a dual-motor AWD setup, packing 428 hp and 543 Nm that propels the EX30 from 0-100 km/h in a mere 3.6 seconds, while its 69 kWh battery offers a range of up to 476 km on a full charge. Technology comes courtesy of a suite of Google services, including Google Maps, Google Assistant and Google Play.

The cornerstone of Volvo’s identity that is safety is now built upon the manufacturer’s latest in safety and driver assistance technologies, including an upgraded Pilot Assist semi-autonomous driving function that moves over to make room for motorcycles and large vehicles.

Joining the brand’s EV range as an updated model this year is the C40 Recharge, now with a larger 82 kWh battery for up to 550 km on a full charge. Uprated to receive up to 200 kW DC charging, this will now take just 27 minutes for a 10-80% replenishment. A 159 PS front motor and 249 PS rear motor brings a combined 408 PS and 670 Nm.

While Volvo is firmly aimed towards full electrification, it also continues to offer models with electrified petrol powertrains in Malaysia, such as the XC60 Recharge and XC90 Recharge. These, in addition to the coupé-roofed C40 Recharge, are offered with cash rebates of up to RM25,000 at ACE 2024.

The XC60 Recharge packs a 317 PS/400 Nm 2.0 litre turbocharged petrol engine that pairs with a 145 PS/309 Nm rear motor to yield 462 PS and 709 Nm. Combined fuel consumption can be as low as 1.6 l/100 km, with a 6.4 kW onboard charger filling its 18.8 kWh battery in three hours.

For something even more spacious, the XC90 Recharge offers seating for seven, with the same PHEV powertrain as in the XC60 Recharge. As the brand’s flagship, this brings a 19-speaker Bowers & Wilkins 1,400-watt sound system, a nine-inch vertical touchscreen, quad-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a head-up display and Active Chassis with four-corner air suspension.

In addition to the deals from the participating brands, ACE 2024 is also your best chance at scoring early access to year-end deals from various brands. On top of the brand promos, the first 200 customers to make a new car booking at ACE 2024 will receive a RM3,000 combined voucher from paultan.org.
