M’sian Shares How You Can Get a “Late Slip” From RapidKL if the Train is Delayed, Just Like in Japan!

by · WORLD OF BUZZ

Sometimes, unforeseen circumstances like train delays cause the users to clock in late at work. In countries like Japan, they take lateness seriously. So much so that you can get a train delay certificate to prove that it’s not your fault.

In case you’re not aware, you can get the same slip here in Malaysia!

In a viral Reddit and X post by LRT user Aida (@_aidaans), she shared a photo of the train delay slip that she obtained from a RapidKL employee. The slip was verified by the employee on duty, as shown in the picture above.

Aida’s trip was affected by the delay on the Kelana Jaya line when she was commuting to work on 23rd May. Her post recently circulated again after another user shared it on the Reddit group, r/Malaysia.

“Today I learned that RapidKL issues train delay certificates upon request. Here’s mine, retrieved due to this morning’s disruption,” Aida remarked in her post.

WORLD OF BUZZ spoke to an employee of RapidKL, who confirmed that anyone who is affected by the delay can receive the slip by simply going to the counter at their destinations to request the document.

“Just fill in a form, and we will issue the slip to you. This applies to MRT users as well.”

The employee also shared with WORLD OF BUZZ another alternative that can be used if affected users don’t have enough time to get the slip from the counters.

“The affected users can screenshot the delay notifications on our social media pages. We will always update about delays and when normal operations will resume via our social media pages.”

Of course, the fewer delays the better! Millions of users rely on the train every day to skip the hectic Klang Valley traffic. Regardless, we would like to thank RapidKL for making this slip available, which might just save us from HR’s nagging!
