AOHi The Future Racing Cable launches as customizable-length cable that upgrades to USB4
by Deirdre O'Donnell · NotebookcheckAOHi has, with impeccable timing, crashed the CES 2024 Day 1 party from a unique crowdfunding vantage point. This new campaign focuses on the Future Racing Cable, touted as one of the most unique and versatile of its kind.
Like its forebear, this new Future-series accessory has a female USB-C connector at one end so that its length - or even its interface - can change at the user's discretion. The Racing Cable is adjustable (or "splicable", as AOHi puts it) in this way thanks to its set of extenders.
These adapters move with the times in 2024 in that there is no Lightning version this time; furthermore, unlike its predecessor, all parts of the Racing set are flat. Nevertheless, they still support up to 240W charging with USB-PD 3.1 tech; 40Gb/s data-transfers and 8K video feeds - just with an extra USB4 spec this time around
AOHi's The Future Racing Cable has an MSRP of $129, but starts at $59 via its new Indiegogo page from now.
Alternatively, grab a 140W version of the AOHi cable with an in-line display from Amazon

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
