Acer slyly launched an absolute banger at Computex 2023. The Acer Swift Edge 16 has all the bells and whistles of a powerful, thin-and-light certified laptop, weighing in at just 1.23 kg (2.7 lb). Now, a US$350 discount has brought its price down to US$950 on Best Buy.

Our in-depth review of the Acer Swift Edge 16 determined it to be a competent performer. However, its OLED screen has PWM flickering at around 240 Hz, which could prove troublesome for some users. Otherwise, it ticks all the boxes for an excellent portable laptop.

The Acer Swift Edge 16 is the cheapest it has ever been, and it'll make for an excellent on-the-go workhorse. Its 16-inch WQXGA+ (3200 x 2000) OLED panel has a refresh rate of 120 Hz, covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and comes with VesaHDR 500 certification.

Under the hood, you get an 8-core, 16-thread AMD Ryzen 7 7840U Zen 4 CPU coupled with a Radeon 780M iGPU. It also has an integrated XDNA AI accelerator, which can help bolster the performance of some Windows applications. This particular Acer Swift Edge 16 variant has a 1 TB SSD and 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM. Of the two, only the latter is replaceable.

Other Acer Swift Edge 16 features include two USB 4.0 Type-C ports, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.1, two USB Type-A ports, and a HDMI port. Its 54 Wh battery supports fast charging at 65 Watts. There's a 1440p webcam thrown in the mix, too, but Windows Hello support is absent.
