Nothing Phone (2a) appears in alleged official product image with brand new design but lacking Glyph Interface

Earlier today, we reported details that conflicting photos of a new Nothing smartphone had emerged online. In short, information from mid-December onwards has pointed towards the Phone (2a) featuring a different camera layout to the Phone (1) and Phone (2). However, a new leak from @OnLeaks and Smartprix suggests otherwise.

According to the former, the image embedded below is an 'official press render', rather than the CAD-based renders that the leaker typically provides. While this statement remains unverified for now, the image contains Nothing branding and regulatory icons in the correct places, including CE and UKCA markings. Additionally, the model number 'A142' and marketing name 'phone (2a)' are visible, which ties in with previous expectations.

Seemingly, the Phone (2a) has a slightly curved back panel, just like the Phone (2) (curr. $690 on Amazon). Likewise, the Phone (2a) features a translucent back panel, a staple of Nothing products. With that being said, the mid-range handset is said to lack a Glyph Interface, Nothing's customisable LED array. Nothing is set to officially unveil the Phone (2a) at the end of February during MWC 2024. Although the first model to be sold with 'a' series branding, Nothing is positioning the Phone (2a) as a 'clear upgrade' over the Phone (1).
