HMD is now officially teasing its repairable phone
by Marin · NokiamobThings are changing in the world of smartphones since the job of teasing has been taken over by companies themselves, not us bloggers and journalists. HMD has just teased images of its first phone, which is taking repairability to the next level. This is one of two HMD devices that were pixelated in the image we all saw at the announcement of HMD’s brand of phones.
I would say that this phone is the one in grey colour. According to HMD, this phone should considerably reduce the number of steps it takes to fix the screen. So, after you break the screen, the only time you’ll be waiting is for the spare part to arrive at your doorstep. iFixit will probably be responsible for selling and shipping the parts.
The phone will be released in July, so we need to be a bit more patient, but according to HMD and the released images, the phone looks great. I am not sure whether this is Legend or Fusion, but after zooming in on the image of the pink phone, you can clearly see that the device will have a 108 MP camera sensor. So, since Legend is an entry device according to Geekbench, this one might be Pulse (or we might also call it Fusion according to the Fusion project).

The device will be coming in several colours, as seen in the pixelated image, with black and purple shown in the teaser. While the back is made of polycarbonate plastic, the sides seem to be made of polished aluminium. The shape of the device is rectangular, but its corners seem to be rounded, so the ergonomics should be fine. Hopefully, Raun Forsyth will pay attention to not making the edges sharp.
What do you think of it? Looks nice, right? Now, what will make it even better is the right hardware, more powerful than what we saw in the Nokia X30. That might make people use it longer, which is definitely a more sustainable way of using a device.
