Lauren Sánchez Shines in Strapless Balenciaga Dress at Living Legends of Aviation Awards

Lauren Sánchez put on a sizzling display on Friday night during the 21st annual Living Legends of Aviation Awards in Los Angeles. The former journalist attended the event on behalf of her fiancé, Amazon founder and executive chairman Jeff Bezos, whose innovation in space travel was recognized at the ceremony.

Sánchez sported a draped Balenciaga gown from the label’s fall 2023 couture collection. Her strapless frock, crafted from coated silk taffeta, also featured a short floor-length train and spandex jersey opera gloves.

Sánchez accessorized with diamond jewelry, which included her 20 to 30 carat cushion cut engagement ring from Bezos, which is worth an estimated $2.5 million.

Stylist Kelly Johnson, whose other clients include Catherine Zeta Jones, Tamera Mowry and “Abbott Elementary” star Lisa Ann Walter, curated Sánchez’s look for the occasion. Hairdresser Dominique Diaz styled Sánchez’s dark tresses in a loose updo, while Christina Lee Adams gave her soft pink blush and a matching glossy lip.

“Honored to have been in the presence of aviation legends who have shaped the history and future of flight,” Sánchez wrote on Instagram. “Thank you Living Legends of Aviation for this incredible recognition. Grateful to my loving family for their unwavering support.”

Bezos’ aerospace company, Blue Origin, seeks to make space travel accessible to tourists. In June 2021, the company performed its first flight to sub-orbital space, followed by another successful launch in October.

Other honorees at the the 21st Living Legends of Aviation Awards included John Travolta, Harrison Ford and Dr. Buzz Aldrin.
