Nio Phone 2 launched with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Works like a car key
by Sunita · KalingaTVNio has launched the Nio phone 2 at its Innovation Day in Shanghai on Saturday. Last year it introduce the Nio Phone in September. It has similar look as the original Nio Phone. The device is equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, 120Hz refresh rate, and more.
Nio Phone 2 offers deep integration between the phone and the company’s EVs line up. Just like the original Nio Phone, the Nio Phone2 has a dedicated button on the left side of the frame to control connected car functions. Like the Nio Phone, the Nio Phone2 also naturally acts like a car key. It has got UWB and Bluetooth for supported cars for more safety and easier to find your car. the other helpful features on the phone include the ability to record car location and parking space number once parked automatically, and NFC key support.
Moreover, the phone has got a new Nio Link feature that allows you to interact with your phone through the car’s infotainment system. Now, the company has added support for more phone apps, including the gallery, file browse, various office apps, and chat clients.
The Nio Phone2 features a 6.82-inch Samsung E7 OLED Ultra HDR LTPO display with up to 2K resolution, and up to 120Hz refresh rate. It offers 1440Hz PWM dimming support between zero and 800 nits with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits. Powering the device is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
For pictures, the phone has got a new 48MP Sony LYT-T808 primary camera sensor, a 48MP Sony IMX882 ultrawide sensor and a 50MP Sony IMX890 2.6x periscope telephoto lens. There is an optical in-display fingerprint reader and an 0815 haptics motor.
The battery packs a 5,020 mAh pack with 80W wired and 50W wireless charging support. All of this is crammed inside a pretty light body that comes in a plethora of colors. The glass back version measures 8.6mm in thickness and weighs in at 209 grams, while the premium ceramic version is 8.45mm thick and tips the scale at 226 grams. Some colors also feature a leather-back finish.
