OnePlus 12R design leak reveals what the smartphone may look like

Ahead of the launch on January 23 next week, complete design details of the OnePlus 12R smartphone has leaked.

OnePlus is set to launch the OnePlus 12 and OnePlus 12R smartphones next week. While the Chinese variants of the smartphones have already launched, we are waiting for the global variants to launch –– more importantly, the India pricing of the smartphones –– which is scheduled for January 23. From what we know so far, the OnePlus 12R will likely be the rebranded version of the OnePlus Ace 3 smartphone. It’s safe to assume that the OnePlus 12R will look a lot like the OnePlus Ace 3, which was recently launched in China. Additionally, leakster Roland Quandt has also shared images which reveal what the OnePlus 12R may look like.

The tweet or X post shared by the leakster also that the OnePlus 12R will likely comes in a blue and a black colour variant. The images also reveal a circular camera module on the top left edge of the smartphone, with four button-like holes in it –– three of which feature cameras and one houses the LED flash. There’s another LED that sits outside the camera module on its top left. In the middle of the back panel is the OnePlus logo. On the front, it has a display with curved edges and a punch hole selfie camera aligned to the top middle of the device.

Additionally, the images also show a volume rocker and a power button on the right edge of the phone, and the alert slider placed on the left.

OnePlus 12R: Expected specifications

The OnePlus 12R is expected to sport a 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display with 120 Hz refresh and 1.5K resolution. The display is believed to come with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits, which will also make it one of the brightest displays out there. Powering the smartphone will likely be the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The smartphone’s SoC will be paired with up to 16GB RAM and 1TB UFS 4.0 storage.

The smartphone is also speculated to be fueled by a large 5,000 mAh battery with support for 100 W wired fast charging.

The OnePlus 12R is also expected to come with connected features like 5G, WiFi 7, IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port.
