It’s no secret that Tasmania has some of this country’s greatest driving roads. And we were on the pick of them in one of the fastest cars on the market. Shame then about the traffic, which was plentiful and surprisingly slow, though it did afford more time to enjoy the scenery.

It was easy to see they do tree-lined avenues well in Tasmania, and vividly green, stone-littered fields. The east coast affords spectacular views across to islands and peninsulas, including Freycinet National Park and Wineglass Bay.
