Police give update after 'white powder thrown at woman' in Plymouth
There was a large 999 response to the incident
by Daniel Clark · PlymouthLiveA man who was arrested following an incident where white powder was reportedly thrown over a woman in Plymouth has been released without charge. The incident which saw a mass emergency response happened in Albert Road at 7.15pm on Friday night.
At the time, multiple ambulances, fire engines and police cars were sent to the scene near the Keyham Vaults pub in the Devonport area of the city. The boozer was not in any way connected to the incident.
At the time, after a police search, a man was arrested and held in custody in connection with the incident. But now police have confirmed he has been released without charge.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police told PlymouthLive: “A man in his 30s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of assault. He has since been released without charge. The man and woman are known to each other.”
At the time, there were concerns the substance may have been hazardous, prompting a large and serious emergency service response. The material was assessed and deemed to be inert and not dangerous, the spokesperson for the force said.
