Forecasters are predicting snow to fall in Devon at the end of this week. The Met Office expects hail, thunder and snow to arrive in the West Country on Friday (March 1).

The Exeter-based forecaster predicts that snow will arrive at Princetown, on Dartmoor, as soon as 4am. This will be followed by flurries of the white stuff throughout the rest of the day.

The outlook also shows "feels like" temperatures as low as -5C throughout the day. The Met Office says that blustery winds will make it feel particularly cold.

A weather map from WX Charts also shows a band of snowfall hitting the West Country tomorrow morning. A large part of the region, including eastern Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Bristol could be hit by wintry showers from 6am.

The map, which you can see below, indicates how much snow could fall in pink. The darker the colour, the heavier the snowfall. The other colours indicate how much rain could be expected.

The weekend is then expected to be wet with heavy showers at times. The Met Office is also expecting overnight frost and ice to build across the South West.
