Trump’s latest E. Jean Carroll statements flagged for judge as new evidence for trial

Donald Trump's recent statements attacking writer E. Jean Carroll, who already won a $5 million defamation judgment from the former president, are already being used against him in court.

Trump's attorneys "went on the offensive," according to MSNBC legal analyst Lisa Rubin.

"It’s Saturday night, and while I sipped a glass of wine, E. Jean Carroll’s lawyers went on the offensive, telling the court they intend to admit as evidence Trump’s post-court press conferences & campaign statements from *this past week.*"

"Why? Because his continued defamation of Carroll, even as the trial is ongoing, is entirely relevant to the jury’s consideration of punitive damages," according to the legal expert.

Rubin also revealed a bid to expedite things.

"In the meantime, to streamline a trial that has already lasted longer than some expected, they have confirmed they will not call two other Trump accusers whose testimony was pivotal in the last trial: Jessica Leeds and Natasha Stoynoff," the lawyer wrote
