Former President Donald Trump on Wednesday took to social media — as he often does — to blast Chris Columbus, the director of both Home Alone and Home Alone 2, according to The Daily Beast.
Per the report, the MAGA hopeful's Truth Social rant comes after Columbus told Business Insider in a recent interview Trump "'bullied' his way" into appearing in a scene from the 1992 sequel, which was filmed at the then-Trump owned Plaza hotel.
"'The only way you can use the Plaza is if I'm in the movie,'" is what the director said Trump insisted. "So we agreed to put him in the movie, and when we screened it for the first time the oddest thing happened: People cheered when Trump showed up on-screen. So I said to my editor, ‘Leave him in the movie. It's a moment for the audience.' But he did bully his way into the movie."
POLL: Should Trump be allowed to hold office again?
Trump fired back on social media, writing, "Nothing could be further from the truth. That cameo helped make the movie a success, but if they felt bullied, or didn't want me, why did they put me in, and keep me there, for over 30 years?
The ex-president also wrote, "30 years ago (how time flies!), Chris Columbus, and others, were begging me to make a cameo appearance in Home Alone 2," insisting that he was "very busy" and "didn't want to do it," but the film crew was so "persistent" he went along with it. "And the rest is history!" he added.
