A bloodied man with a knife was taken to hospital after police cordoned off a road.
Fender View Road in Moreton was cordoned off after reports of a man, waving a knife, were made to police. Police confirmed to the ECHO officers were called to reports a man was having a medical episode on the Wirral street shortly before 9am today, Friday, December 15.
A spokesperson said the force was contacted by a member of the public reporting the man was in possession of a knife and needed urgent medical assistance. Merseyside Police and multiple crews from North West Ambulance Service attended the scene and the man was rushed to hospital by paramedics. The police spokesperson added: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances, but at this time we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident."

Two men at the scene told the ECHO: "We asked the police man earlier what happened and he said they thought it a medical incident but it can't be proven yet. We thought it might have been a stabbing before we asked the police. Someone else told us that the lad was in the street with his top off waving a knife around."
The ECHO understands that the road and the surrounding area was busy with people going to work and school when the incident happened. Orrets Meadow Special School was within a short walking distance from the police cordon.
When the ECHO arrived at the scene there were two paramedic crews still at the scene. There were also several police vehicles including a Matrix van. The police cordon stretched around a section the entrances to several houses, as well as covering an alleyway between two houses.
