Mat Rempit Repents After Death of Fellow Street Racer Friend, Now Runs Clothing Stores & Earns 6 Figures
by Azri Azizan · WORLD OF BUZZSometimes, it takes A LOT for us to learn a lesson. In this case, a Malaysian man learned his lesson the hard way after the death of his fellow (illegal) street racer friend.
If you find joy by going Superman on your motorcycles, happily taking over cars, and escaping the police at roadblocks, this is something that might remind you that change can happen at any time.
27-year-old Muhammad Arif now runs a clothing store and makes 6-figure a month but before this, he was living the life of a Mat Rempit.
Everything changed after the death of his friend, who also enjoyed racing on the streets with his bike.
From zero to hero
According to reports by Oriental Daily and Harian Metro, Arif admitted that he was a problematic student back then. Despite making it through SPM, he was expelled from school due to disciplinary issues. It was also the time when he made friends, where the circle was filled with like-minded peers – Mat Rempits.
He did not only find excitement by racing on the streets illegally but things escalated when he got a job as a drug dealer, despite the objection of others.
The death of his friend was like a sudden slap to his face and a punch to his gut. Since then, he decided to stray away from illegal activities and start over.
He started to save up and build his clothing brand. With no prior knowledge of the industry, he learned everything on his own through various YouTube channels. Where there’s a will, there’s a way.
Arif now runs 2 outlets in Bandar Dato’ Onn, Johor Bahru, and an outlet in Setapak, KL. With his 6-figure salary, he can support the family.
The thrills and adrenaline may be fun with the speed making you feel like the King on the street, but accidents can happen at any time. There’s still time for you to change that by turning your back on everything dangerous and not beneficial.
