“Serves you right” – M’sians are Leaving Horrific Comments About the Beruas MP’s House Fire

Earlier this morning (January 10), it was reported that the home of Beruas MP Datuk Ngeh Koo Ham had caught on fire after an alleged arson attack using a Molotov cocktail.

As a result of the fire, one of his vehicles was destroyed while the other two were damaged. Thankfully though, no one got hurt or worse as the Perak Fire and Rescue Department (JBPM) arrived on the scene and managed to put out the fire while it was still contained within his porch.

Despite the horrific actions of those responsible for causing the fire, many of our fellow Malaysians have since taken to social media to leave appalling comments in regards to the incident.

While some alleged that the politician caused the fire himself for own agendas, others went so far as to share that he deserved it due to his political stances.

“I think he set the fire himself. It’s common for them to provoke and then play the victim.”

“He did it himself, to make it look like Malaysia has religious extremists. (This is an) outdated tactic.”

“There are 3 benefits to doing this to yourself. Firstly, he can accuse Muslims of being terrorists. Secondly, he can play the victim to garner sympathy. Thirdly, he can claim insurance.”

“I think he did it himself, then he can accuse people of being terrorists and fanatics. Don’t believe me? Just watch.”

“Things you shouldn’t touch on, you touched on. This is the consequence of that.”

“Serves you right.”

It is fine to disagree with politicians and their stances, in fact, it is also okay to get angry. But acting on that anger or disagreement is wrong and shouldn’t be condoned, especially if lives are being threatened.

It is best to let the authorities and the law to do their job.
