Metrolink tram passengers face four days of disruption in Manchester city centre
Two lines will be affected
by Stephen Topping · Manchester Evening NewsCommuters and visitors to Manchester city centre will face disruption this week as urgent works take place. Two Metrolink stations will have fewer services than normal from tomorrow morning (January 16) until close of service on Friday, January 19.
It comes as tram services are being affected by a 'cracked rail' at Victoria, according to Transport for Greater Manchester. The issue will affect city centre Metrolink passengers using the lines between Altrincham and Bury, and Manchester Airport and Victoria lines.
No services on either line will stop at Market Street or Shudehill. Instead, trams on both lines will run via Exchange Square.

Passengers who need to travel to Market Street or Shudehill stops are being advised to change at Victoria, for a Piccadilly-bound service. A Bee Network spokesperson posted on X (formerly Twitter): "Due to a cracked rail at Victoria, there will be a service change in effect from the start of service tomorrow.
"Altrincham, Bury and Manchester Airport lines will travel via Exchange Square and will not call at Shudehill or Market St." For live updates from tomorrow to Friday, see the Bee Network website or follow @BeeNetwork on X.
